  1. What is the Handicap Tour(HT) App?

    The Handicap Tour(HT) app is a competitive golf platform where players can showcase their talent, climb the unique HT world ranking system, and gain recognition across the golfing community. Through regular tournaments, players earn sponsorship in the form of financial rewards based on their performance. It’s a powerful way for golfers to not only improve their game but also build a name for themselves and achieve fame within a growing, dynamic community of passionate players. For those who perform well, the journey can be both rewarding and highly lucrative.

  2. What format is the competition?

    This is an Individual Points Stableford (IPS) competition, where players earn points per hole based on their score relative to par.

  3. Who can participate?

    Anyone aged 7 to 100 years may enter. Participants under 7 or over 100 are not permitted.

  4. Do I need to belong to a golf club?

    No, you do not need to be affiliated with any golf club to participate but need a Handicap Index to enter the tournament.

  5. How do I register an account?

    Download the app, select “Sign Up,” and enter your details. A confirmation email will activate your account.

  6. How many accounts can I have?

    Only one account per person is permitted.

  7. What personal details are required?

    You must submit your: Name, Surname, Nickname, Date of Birth, Gender, e-mail address, ID number and a photo of your ID, HCI, Country, Cell Phone number.

  8. Are there content rules for images?

    Yes. Any “unwanted” or inappropriate images (profile or scorecard) will result in account removal with no refund.

  9. Why do I need a nickname?

    Nicknames protect your identity. If you don’t provide one, your real name will be used.Nicknames and team names must be unique.

  10. Can I access my account on multiple devices?

    Yes, your account can be accessed across multiple devices using your login credentials.

  11. How can I log in?

    You can login using your email or social media accounts.

  12. Will I appear in promotional content?

    Yes. By participating, you consent to appearing in marketing material, including event footage.

  13. Can I delete my account?

    Yes. You may deactivate your account within the app. Ensure your HT$ wallet has a zero balance before doing so.

TOURNAMENTS and EVENTS

  1. How do I enter a tournament?

    Go to the “Home Page,” select the tournament, and enter. A Season Pass grants access to all events in that tournament.

  2. What Handicap Index is allowed?

    Players with Handicap Index from +5.9 to 36.9 may participate.

  3. How is my handicap calculated?

    Your Handicap Index will be adjusted to 75%. During event registration, your Course Handicap for the Day of Play will be calculated based on this adjusted Handicap Index and the specific course you will be playing on.

  4. Can I manually adjust my handicap?

    No. Handicap Index cannot be manually changed after input. If you want to change this, contact support.

  5. How is my handicap verified or adjusted?

    Your Handicap Index is verified and updated after each event using the lowest 6 of your last 8 scores.

  6. What are HT Points?

    HT Points are the official points system used on the Handicap Tour (HT) to track performance across all events. You earn HT points based on your individual or team results in each event, and these points accumulate to form your HT World Ranking.

  7. What happens if I miss an event?

    You receive no HT points for that event. However, late subscribers receive the lowest HT points from previous events plus their actual score from the event they play.

  8. What disqualifies me from the HT ranking?

    Players may be disqualified from the HT rankings for actions such as cheating, failing to submit a scorecard without a valid reason (No Return), submitting inconsistent or fraudulent scores, giving putts (both the player and the marker), or any breach of HT Golf rules. Additionally, any violation of general golf rules may also result in disqualification.

  9. What happens if I’m disqualified?

    You’ll receive a disqualification (DQ), may be suspended, and HT may expose cheaters publicly.

  10. What if I enter my score incorrectly?

    Submitting incorrect scores—whether through incorrect IPS points, miscalculations on the scorecard, or discrepancies with the official club scorecard—may result in disqualification from the tournament. Please ensure that all scores are accurate and consistent before submission.

  11. What if I can’t complete a round?

    If you submit No Return, you must provide a reason. You will receive no HT ranking points for that event.

  12. How accurate are the HT rankings?

    HT Rankings are updated after verification and reflect HT points based on verified tournament performance, points earned, and consistency in play.

  13. How often is the information updated?

    Data is updated after each event and final verification—typically within 96 hours.

  14. How are leaderboard ties resolved?

    Using a unique count-out system based on Slope, Par, and Age.

  15. Why can’t I enter future events, even if I have a Season Pass?

    Only the next upcoming event is open for registration. This ensures your Handicap Index (HCI) is updated based on your most recent performance before entering the next event. Even if you’ve purchased a Season Pass — which gives you access to all events — you’ll still only be able to enter each event once it officially opens for registration. This system keeps the competition fair and ensures your HCI stays accurate and up to date throughout the tour.

TEAMS

  1. Can I join a team?

    Yes. You may play as an individual or be part of a team. Season Pass includes both formats.

  2. What is the team format?

    Teams consist of up to 6 players. The best 4 IPS scores in the team count toward HT team points. If fewer than 4 participate, all scores are added.

  3. Can I change teams mid-season?

    No. Once you have joined, your team is locked for the entire tournament.

  4. Are there prizes for teams?

    Yes. Sponsorship/prize money is awarded to both individual and team winners.

PAYMENTS and EARNINGS

  1. Is the app free?

    Yes, it is free to download and browse. A Season Pass is required to join tournaments.

  2. What is a Season Pass?

    It gives access to all events in a tournament season—both individual and team competitions. It does not cover green fees.

  3. How do I deposit funds?

    Use Peach Payments or PayPal to top up your HT Wallet. 1 HT$ = 1 ZAR. This can be using Credit/Debit Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

  4. Can I get a refund for a Season Pass?

    No refunds are provided after purchase.

  5. Can a Season Pass auto-renew?

    Yes, it may prompt for automatic yearly renewal.

  6. How do I withdraw my winnings?

    Withdrawals are done via the App. Bank costs are paid by the player. Funds can be sent to multiple accounts.

  7. Are there fees for withdrawals?

    Yes, transaction/bank costs apply to each withdrawal.

  8. When will I receive my winnings?

    Payouts are typically processed within 48–72 hours after event verification. Contact Support if not received in this period.

  9. What if I entered the wrong banking details?

    HT is not responsible for incorrect details provided by the player.

  10. Is my data secure?

    Yes, banking details are never stored. All transactions are processed securely via third-party platforms.

  11. Is HT registered for VAT?

    No. VAT cannot be claimed on Season Pass purchases.

DAY OF PLAY

  1. When do event entries close?

    Entries close 7 days before the start of the event.

  2. What if I don’t show up?

    Failure to attend an event without prior notice will be considered non-participation, and no HT points will be awarded. If you are unable to attend for a valid reason, please update your status in the app. Repeated no-shows without a valid explanation may result in restricted access to the app in the future.

  3. What if the event is cancelled or rescheduled?

    HT reserves the right to reschedule events. If cancelled, your entry may apply to another event in that tournament.

  4. What happens in case of bad weather?

    While the Handicap Tour (HT) cannot be held responsible for disruptions caused by inclement weather, please note that if a round is not completed and no scorecard is submitted, no sponsorship/prize money or HT points will be awarded for that day.

  5. What if too many players enter?

    An event may be extended over multiple days.

  6. Where can I play?

    Only at participating clubs listed on the app/website. New clubs are added regularly.

  7. Can I request to add my club?

    Yes. Email support@handicaptour.co with club details to request inclusion.

  8. Who can be a playing partner on the day of play?

    The four-ball must consist of at least one non-team member.

  9. Why can’t I start the Event on the App?

    You can only start playing on the day the event is scheduled for. Additionally, you must be physically present at the golf course where you registered to play. Make sure your phone’s location services are enabled so the app can verify your location.

  10. Is placing allowed?

    Yes, placing is permitted. Players are allowed one club-length placing on the fairway in play. This must be done within the general area and not closer to the hole, in accordance with HT Golf rules.

TECHNICAL and MISCELLANEOUS

  1. The app isn’t loading. What should I do?

    Restart the App, check your internet, or update to the latest version.

  2. How do I report bugs or issues?

  3. Can I change my email or username?

    Yes. You can do this in your profile settings. Some changes may require verification.

  4. Can I interact with other players on the app?

    No. Social features are limited to protect privacy.

  5. Can I invite friends?

    Yes! Use your referral link in the app. You can also invite friends to join your team.
